Upload Your User Avatar

OnePlace isn't just about managing your work — it's a social application for connecting people together online, and allowing them to accomplish goals. When collaborating with others, it's nice to be able to put faces to names, especially for people you've never met in person. This often happens when collaborating with outside partners, clients and vendors, and even in large companies. So, to help personalize your team relationships, OnePlace provides the ability for you to upload a portrait or avatar of yourself.

You can choose any image you like for your avatar. It can be a picture of you (a headshot typically works best), or it can be something fun that represents you and your personality. So, if you want to be Darth Vader or Tweety Bird, you can be!

How to upload your avatar

  1. Click on the Settings link in the upper right hand corner of OnePlace. A menu of options will appear that allow you to change various settings.
  2. Click on the Personal Profile link. A dialog will pop up allowing you to modify your personal profile (shown below).
  3. Under the Avatar section of the dialog, click on the Choose File button.
  4. Use the File Browser window that pops up to find the image you want to use for your avatar on your hard drive or shared network.
  5. Click the Save button on the dialog to save your changes.

OnePlace will resize your avatar to 48 x 48 pixels. If you want to use an image that has lots of extra "stuff" in it that you don't want to include in your avatar, make sure to crop the image before uploading it into OnePlace using a graphics editing tool. OnePlace won't crop your avatar in a way.

Here's an example taken your Home page of how OnePlace uses your user avatar:
