Introduction
The OnePlace Dashboard brings the power of Team Pulse to your desktop. It's a separate application that you install on your computer, which is cross-platform and available for Windows, Mac & Linux. The Dashboard allows you to send and receive messages with your teammates without even opening your browser. A built-in notification system keeps you aware of new messages as they happen, by displaying notifications in the upper right corner of your screen, and by playing sounds that help you quickly identify the kinds of messages you've received.

Installation
Installing the OnePlace Dashboard is easy. If you have the Adobe Flash Plugin installed, you can just click the Install Now button to the right. If you are asked whether you would like to open or save the application, select open. You will then be asked to confirm if you would like to install the Dashboard. This screen also verifies that the application is published by us. Then just select a directory in which to install, launch the application, and start communicating with your team!
The Dashboard is self-upgrading, meaning that when you run it, it will automatically detect and notify you if a newer version is available. You will then be presented with a simple process for upgrading to the latest version.
Running The OnePlace Dashboard
Once you have the OnePlace Dashboard installed, you can click on the Dashboard icon and it will start right up for you. Sign in with your email address and password you chose when creating your OnePlace account, and you can start communicating with your teammates right away.
You can also set up the OnePlace Dashboard to start up immediately when you turn on your computer.
- Mac - Go to your System Preferences-Accounts-Login Items menu, and click the plus sign button to choose new applications to automatically start when your computer starts.
- Windows - Go to your My Computer-Drive C:-Documents and Settings folder and click on the folder that matches your User Name. After this, choose your Start Menu folder, your Programs folder and finally your Startup folder. Now, just drag and drop programs into the folder from your Desktop of other folders, and they will start as soon as your computer is starting as well.
Signing In
Once you've launched the OnePlace Dashboard you are presented with a sign-in screen. Use your OnePlace email address and password to sign in. If you want to be signed in automatically in the future, just check the "Remember?" box. If at any time you wish to have the Dashboard stop signing in automatically, this can be accomplished by clicking the Sign Out link at the top the window.

The OnePlace Dashboard user interface is made up of two sections - a form on the top for posting a new message, and a list of messages below the form, which are messages that have been sent to you, to a workplace you belong to, or to your team account.
Sending Messages
Sending messages works the same way it does in OnePlace, including directing messages to specific workplaces, teammates and the entire account. Simply pick a "target" (i.e. who you want to send your message to) from the "Send message to" drop down, type a message in the text box, and then click the Post button. Your message will be instantly broadcasted to everyone that belongs to the target you selected.

If you want to include emoticons (smiley face icons) in your message, click the "Insert Emoticon" link, and choose your emoticon from the small window that pops up. You can also enter them directly. For example, :-) is what you would enter for the "Happy" emoticon.
Reading Messages
The OnePlace Dashboard provides four different tabs for reading your messages. Each tab allows you to view a certain set of your messages.
The "My Feed" tab displays all your messages, which are those sent by you and your teammates, and those sent by OnePlace when something happens (e.g. someone changes his status, starts a task, completes a task, etc.). If you want to make sure you don't miss seeing a message, this is the tab you'll want to sit on.

The "New Messages" tab displays messages that you've received since the last time you clicked the "Mark All Read" link (which is the way you tell OnePlace that you've read your messages). This tab is a handy way to quickly see if you've received any new messages since the last time you read your messages. Please note that this tab only provides value if you are diligent about marking your messages as read after you've read them.

The "User Messages" tab displays messages that were sent by actual users, meaning you and your teammates. This tab filters out the system messages that OnePlace sends when things happen in the system. If you don't care to see when someone changes his/her status, or when someone starts/completes a task, then this is the tab for you.

The "Status Updates" tab displays messages that were sent by OnePlace when someone updates their status, or when someone starts or completes a task. This tab filters out the messages sent by actual users. This tab is handy if you want to get a quick overview of the status of your teammates, or want to see who's been doing what.

Refreshing Messages
The OnePlace Dashboard will automatically check for new messages, starting with every 10 seconds, and eventually degrading to 60 seconds when you have no new messages. If you want to force a refresh of your messages, simply click the Refresh icon on any of the 4 tabs (highlighted in red below), and the Dashboard will check with OnePlace to see if you have any new messages.

Filtering Messages
Each of the four tabs has a "Filter" drop down, which allows you to filter the messages shown to just those that were sent to a specific "target". For example, suppose you belong to a "Marketing" workplace. If you want to see only the messages that were sent to the Marketing workplace, click on the Filter drop down, and choose the "Marketing" choice under the "Workplace" heading.
Reading Older Messages
If you belong to a really active team that communicates heavily, you'll quickly find that you have more messages than the OnePlace Dashboard can show at one time. No worries, a set of controls will appear at the bottom of the Dashboard window that let you easily navigate through older messages.

Notifications
If you've ever missed a time sensitive message. you will appreciate Dashboard Notifications. When you receive a new message from one of your teammates, you will be alerted with a notification in the upper right corner of your screen and an audible notification sound. If you have several new messages, then multiple notification windows will be displayed, stacked on top of one another.

Preferences
There are some configuration options for customizing your experience with the OnePlace Dashboard. Clicking on Preferences in the upper right corner of the application will display a screen where you can adjust the following settings:

- Number of Messages per Page - The number of messages you would like to see at one time. Choose between 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 messages.
- Popup Display Duration - The amount of time (in seconds) the Dashboard will display a new message notification before it disappears.
- Direct Messages - Pick a sound to be played when you receive a direct message, and decide if a pop up notification should appear for a direct message. A direct message is one that someone either sent directly to you (by choosing your name in the "Send message to" drop down), or directed at you via the "@Name" convention in a message sent to a wider audience.
- User Messages - Pick a sound to be played when you receive a user message, and decide if a pop up notification should appear for a user message. A user message is one that was sent by another user, but not directed specifically at you.
- Status Updates - Pick a sound to be played when you receive a status update, and decide if a pop up notification should appear for a status update. Status updates are messages sent automatically by OnePlace when a teammates changes his/her status, or starts/completes a task.
You might find it helpful to choose a different sound for each type of message described above. This will give you an audible way to "prioritize" your incoming messages.
Note that each change you make to your preferences will be automatically saved as soon as you make it. Click the Close button to return to your messages.
